Five intrepid members of the team at Cambridge letting agency Accent Property took the plunge at a fundraising swimathon at Parkside Pools on Saturday April 18th.
Billed as the world's biggest swim, the swimathon was in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation. It was a nationwide event running at some 500 pools across the country from April 16th-19th and, over the past two years, has seen more than 30,000 swimmers take part, bringing in an incredible £3 million for the charities.
Raising more than £300 themselves were Accent Property's Neil Robinson, Emma Hood, Katie Taney, Gregory Loizou and Kristian Turner (pictured left to right with Karen Hughes, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care).
Speaking on behalf of the team, property manager Emma said: "we had a great time and all swam really well. Thanks also to everyone who sponsored us; we're thrilled with the total amount of money we collected, which has smashed our target of £200."
Fellow swimmer Katie was also enthusiastic: "we split the 5km between us and each swam 1km. It's an incredibly worthwhile cause and we're very much looking forward to being a part of it again next year."
If you haven't done so already, there's still time to make a donation. Visit the team's
