The Accent Property team were out in force at the Cambridge 800 Town, Gown & Country show, which took place across the weekend of June 13-14.
Organised by Oakleigh Fairs and now in its third year, the two-day event was this time sponsored by Cambridge University, as part of its 800 Anniversary celebrations. Thousands of visitors descended on Parker's Piece where family entertainment included birds of prey flying displays, jousting, the famous Sheep Show, a fairground and donkey rides. Accent Property was amongst the other local businesses and trades people exhibiting.
As well as taking the opportunity to talk to passers-by about their services, the team had also joined up with the
Make-A-Wish Foundation to raise money through a special charity competition, with visitors invited to pay £1 to guess how many balloons had been crammed into one of the Accent Property cars. Saturday's number was
207 and Sunday's
212, and prizes included overnight stays with leading serviced accommodation provider
Your Space Cambridge Apartments, gift vouchers for
Elaje Hair & Beauty, and bottles of champagne.
The team amassed a magnificent £348.35 over the course of the weekend, and all proceeds went to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
Accent Property's general manager, Sarah Cox, said: "it's great to be involved in an event like this. We’re always keen to get out and about and meet people, and to be able to use the opportunity to help raise funds for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation has really made the weekend worthwhile."
