Cambridge letting agent Accent Property took part in a spot of golf recently, as both participants in and sponsors of
Ely City Golf Club's annual Yellow Ball Golf Charity Day.
With the sun shining, a total of 136 players formed teams of four and teed off in a bid to claim the title at the club's popular yearly fundraiser. In addition to regular golf balls, teams are also issued with a special yellow ball, with players taking it in turns to play a hole using it. That player then scores double points for that hole, but if during any point the ball is lost, the team forfeits their chance to boost their score for the rest of the round. The team with the overall highest number of points at the end of the match is declared the winner.
Accent Property proudly sponsored the first tee, whilst fellow Accent House company Your Space Cambridge Apartments donated an overnight stay in one of their luxury serviced apartments to the charity auction taking place later in the evening.
Ely City Golf Club raised a tremendous £4,300 for three beneficiaries - St Nicholas' Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, Hospice at Home (Arthur Rank Hospice, Cambridge) and the Ely City Golf Club Captains Charity, which in 2009 is The Highfields Special School in Ely.
Accent Property's James Peace said: "We were delighted to support the day and very much look forward to taking part again next year!"
