Cambridge letting agency Accent Property fielded a team of runners in last week's Chariots of Fire relay race.
Inspired by Cambridge University runner Harold Abraham's attempts to win gold at the 1924 Olympics and immortalised in the film of the same name, Chariots of Fire is held annually in Cambridge. Starting on The Backs, teams consist of six runners, with each individual completing one circuit of the 1.7 mile course. Along the way they take in Trinity, King's and Clare Colleges, before crossing the line again at The Backs and passing on the baton to the next team member. Participants battle it out for The People’s Cup and the Sir Arthur Marshall trophy.
The combined 2,500 runners were raising funds this year for
Cam-mind, Cambridge's oldest mental health charity, providing support to people with mental health problems since 1908. 1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems at some point in their lives. These include conditions such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.
The six budding athletes from Accent Property were joined by a team from sister company Your Space Cambridge Apartments. Director Neil Robinson put in a lightning display, completing the team's first leg in the overall fastest time at an astonishing 10 minutes 30 seconds. Superb performances followed from everyone else, giving both teams respectable finishing positions.
Scarlet Guest, a lettings negotiator at Accent Property, said: "We had a fantastic day and it's such a great event. We're hoping to have raised around £300, if not more - the money is still coming in. We'll definitely take part again next year!"
